MSU Acting Department Chair of TISM and Director of the Quello Center Steve Wildman stated that this recognition of Van Osch is "A well-deserved honor. This is just further confirmation of the extraordinary talent that has been evident from the day she joined our faculty."

Wietske van Osch received her Ph.D. in Information Systems at the University of Amsterdam. "This prize is the most prestigious award for a junior faculty in Management and Information Systems." van Osch said. "Previous recipients of this award have experienced an amazing career after winning. Increased visibility from winning has given them opportunities to collaborate with senior faculty in the field. The Doctoral Dissertation Award is accompanied by a $20,000 prize and publishing by renown international science publisher, Springer. Previous recipients of this prestigious award include top researchers Paul Paflou of Temple University's Fox School of Business and Paul Leonardi, the Pentair-Nugent Associate Professor at Northwestern University.
