What a great start to 2012 for the Spartans! On Monday, the Spartan football team celebrated a dramatic and well-deserved win in the Outback Bowl. Then on Tuesday, the Spartan basketball team was victorious.
There is another Spartan game still being played out, and in this game everyone is a winner.
In advance of the Outback Bowl, MSUAA leader Scott Westerman commissioned our videogame students and faculty to develop a celebratory game especially for MSU alumni and friends.
The resulting project is called Spartan Remix, an online music game featuring the sounds of the MSU Marching Band and the Spartan Dischords that allows players to interactively build, mix and share their own version of the MSU Fight Song. Players can save their song, and so far almost 900 remixes have been created since it launched on Dec. 30.
Kudos to faculty member Brian Winn, producer of the game and director of the MSU Games for Entertainment and Learning Lab, and recent alumni Shawn Henry Adams, Jordan Ajlouni, Andrew Dennis, and Michael Rossi for their work on the game and for launching their new business Adventure Club Games upon graduation.
I invite you to play, create, save and share your Spartan victory song: http://gel.msu.edu/spartanremix/. When you do, be sure to share your version on the college's Facebook or Twitter networks so we can share your musical talents further.
