The Mary Gardner Scholars are considered the top 12 graduating J-School seniors as nominated by faculty members. To be considered, these students need to have performed at the highest possible levels academically and professionally.
Students must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher; have worked at the State News for at least one year or completed a paid internship; and have 90 or more credits.
Faculty nominate and select the Mary Gardner Scholars. If you are selected as a Mary Gardner Scholar, you are eligible for an award, which will be given to the Mary Gardner Scholar with the highest GPA.
