It's More of a Science Than We Think
Communication Major and Sales Communication Specialization student Zororo Makamba has put the art of leaving voicemail messages to the test... literally.
Zororo received second place in the World Collegiate Sales Open competition. The competition involved calling and leaving voicemail messages that were compelling enough for individuals to call back, required the student to call and speak to a "gatekeeper" (overcome objections and secure an appointment) and dealt with the pressures of a face-to-face meeting with a VP of sales. Finally he had to do an "elevator" pitch.
And that was just for starters. Zororo can give you the rest of the story. Zororo is originally from Zimbabwe and did an internship in South Africa. This summer he will be interning with a telecommunications company in New Delhi, India. We are sure his talent will come in handy.
