Management of Information Technology Specialization

The Department of Media and Information offers Master of Arts students the possibility of adding a specialization in the management of information technology, based upon our cooperation with the Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the Eli Broad College of Business. This specialization offers graduate students the opportunity to take a series of information systems management courses from faculty in the College of Business. After successfully completing the requirements for this specialization, certification will be noted on students' academic transcripts.

Option Requirements
Students in the option must complete all of the degree requirements of any one of the Media and Information masters emphases. Specific course requirements are listed below.

Required coursework (9 credits):
ACC 821: Enterprise Database Systems (3 credits)
ACC 824: Digital Business Models and Processes (3 credits)
TC 853: Information Technology and Organizations (3 credits)

Two courses selected from the following (6 credits):
ACC 822: Analysis and Design of Enterprise Systems (3 credits)
ACC 823: Advanced Enterprise Database Systems (3 credits)
ACC 825: Object-Oriented Business Information Systems (3 credits)
ACC 826: Enterprise Information Systems (3 credits)
ACC 890: Independent Study (3 credits)
ITM 814: Decision Support Systems in Business (3 credits)
