High School Students Convene for School of Journalism's 2012 MIPA Conference

MIPA 2012On Tuesday, October 23, over 2000 high school students from across the state of Michigan convened for the 2012 Michigan Interscholastic Press Association Conference at the Lansing Center in downtown Lansing. The conference offered over 60 sessions covering a wide variety of journalism and media arts topics, including sports writing, yearbook design, photography, editing, ethics and leadership.   

Several College of Communication Arts & Sciences faculty were in attendance and presented, including Serena Carpenter ("Search Smarter"), Bob Gould (“Take Me There, Make Me Care”), Joe Grimm (“Heads Up! A New Way to Write Headlines”), Karl Gude (“Create an Awesome Infographic”), Cheryl Pell (“What Newspapers Can Learn from Magazines”) and Jon Whiting (“Good Audio & Video Is Possible On A Budget!”).
