Future faculty

Posted on: September 9, 2011

The keyword for the MSU College of Communication Arts & Sciences this year will be "future". As the dean of the college, I can tell you it has never looked more promising. Our research grants are on the rise, our Ph.D. programs are ranked in the top 10 nationwide, our videogame specialization is among the top ten in the United States, and our students are graduating into an exciting new world of communication - and excelling in it. We have seven new faculty members joining our college this year.

But there's more.

Over the next year, we expect to hire 10 new faculty members in a variety of strategic areas of communication, including:

  • videogame design and development
  • risk communication
  • new technology journalism
  • environmental journalism
  • social media and mobile applications
  • international communication technology for development
  • new media and public relations
  • media and strategic communication
  • new and emerging communication technologies and economics
  • communicative sciences and disorders

You can help us. Over the next few months, we will be launching searches for the best communication experts and scholars to take these positions and continue to propel our college's reputation forward. Please forward this blog post and the position announcements to your contacts who want to educate tomorrow's global communication leaders and conduct world-class communication research. Several of the positions are already posted online at www.cas.msu.edu/jobs and additional openings will be posted soon.
