Snyder makes appointments to Michigan Film Office Advisory Council

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Bill Ludwig, Joe Voss and Brian Winn to the Michigan Film Office Advisory Council.

The 14-member board advises the Michigan Film Office, assists in attracting productions to the state and promotes community participation in the industry.

“I appreciate the commitments of Bill, Joseph and Brian to the film industry in Michigan,” Snyder said. “This council plays an important role, and I look forward to their expertise.”

Ludwig, of Birmingham, will represent residents of the state for the remainder of a four-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2014. He also will serve as chair of the council, and fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Ronald Holzgen. Ludwig is chairman and CEO of the international advertising agency Campbell Ewald. He also is a member of the Ad Council Board of Directors. Ludwig received a master’s degree in writing and film from Western Michigan University.

Voss, of Holland, will represent broad areas of production for a four-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2016. He replaces Bob Brown. Voss is senior counsel for Clark Hill PLC, serving as the practice leader of the firm’s Entertainment Industry Team. He has been representing clients in Michigan’s production industry for the past seven years. Voss earned a bachelor’s degree in history and religion from City University of New York – Brooklyn College and a degree from the DePaul University College of Law.

Winn, of Okemos, will represent residents of the state for the remainder of a four-year term expiring Sept. 30, 2013. He fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Emery King. Winn is an associate professor in the Department of Media and Informationat Michigan State University as well as director of the university’s Games for Entertainment and Learning Lab. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in computer science and engineering from Michigan State University.
