Liz Ross, a 1994 Advertising graduate of MSU, will deliver the 2014 Edward Zabrusky Public Relations Lecture at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in Room 145 of the Communication Arts and Sciences Building.
A veteran of the advertising industry for nearly 20 years, Ross is the North America President of BPN and leads operations for the IPG Mediabrands' worldwide media agency network. She joined BPN in September 2012 to expand the unit's North American operations.
Ross' talk, "A Look Forward - Top Trends and Technologies: How today's innovations will affect the future of media," is free and open to the public.
Immediately following the lecture, a reception will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 182 of the CAS building. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
Before joining BPN, Ross was the CEO of Geomentum, an IPG Mediabrands agency. Prior to that, she served as Chief Growth Officer at Publicis Groupe's Digitas after shining as U.S. President at Tribal DDB, where she oversaw the teams on such clients as Clorox, Visa and Pepsi Cola.
She also spent time at Modem Media in San Francisco, where she led the business development groups in San Francisco and Norwalk, Conn., and pioneered interactive brand-consumer relationships for clients such as General Motors, Delta, General Electric, HP, Michelin, Citibank and IBM.
Prior to Modem, Ross worked in Business Development and Account Management for J. Walter Thompson in Chicago and New York. She served on varied accounts such as Dell, Continental Airlines, 20th Century Fox, Kraft, Mattel and Nabisco.
Ross was inducted into the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Hall of Achievement in 2008 and was named a Woman to Watch by Advertising Age in January 2008.
The Edward Zabrusky Public Relations Lecture Series is named for former MSU News Bureau Chief Ed Zabrusky, who retired from MSU in 1994 after almost 40 years of public relations work for the university.
