The MSU Media Sandbox will be hosting College of Communication Arts & Sciences advertising alumni and CEO of Deutsch LA Michael Sheldon on Friday, November 16 for what promises to be a full house in CAS Room 147 (the event, originally planned to take place in CAS Room 145, had a venue change to accommodate increased interest). Sheldon will return to CAS to give a presentation about his journey from MSU to creating the fan-favorite Volkswagen Passat, Star Wars-inspired 2011 Super Bowl commercial, The Force". In addition to Volkswagen, Sheldon's roster of global clients includes HTC, PNC, Sony Playstation, GoDaddy, Snapple and Diamond Foods.
I do a lot of speeches now, and I always start by saying, 'I will tell you the secret to life. Every day you wake up, brush your teeth, drive to work, work your butt off, come home, watch TV and go to bed. On weekends, you party and then start the week all over again, Sheldon told the Los Angeles Times in August of 2011. The key is to inject out-of-the-ordinary experiences into that backdrop. Go someplace with people you hardly know. That's the secret to life: Inject life with these new experiences. Scare yourself a little.'"
Sheldon's presentation will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Room 147 of the CAS building. All are welcome to attend this free event (RSVP here) that will give both students and professionals in the field a chance to hear from one of the most successful advertising executives in the industry.Share via these networks:
