Bio

Ron Tamborini is Professor and Director of Doctoral Programs in the Department of Communciation at Michigan State University. Ron received his Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Indiana University. He teaches and does research in several areas of media effects. His recent work explores exposure to educational and entertaining content in traditional and new media. His entertainment research spans the psychology of comedy, suspenseful and violent drama, horror, tragedy, erotica, and sports. His new media research focuses on the experience of virtual and augmented reality. Independent of media effect, his research focuses on emotional behavior, especially fear/anger and their relation to human behavior.
