The Business of Regional Sports Networks: A mini ESPN? Not even close!
If you think Regional Sports Networks (RSN’s) are
nothing more than mini-ESPN’s, you’re not even close. There are over 40 RSN’s
scattered across the USA. How they acquire rights to televise games, their
economic business models, their challenges and opportunities, and the
strategies they use to connect with viewers and sponsors are very different
from the national sports networks. During this presentation we’ll explore the
history of how RSN’s evolved, who’s now in the RSN game and what the future
holds. And in the end it’ll be clear; if you can’t anticipate future trends and
adapt to change…you probably shouldn’t get in the game.
