The Richard E. Augenstein Public Relations Scholarship recognizes Richard Augenstein who received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1956 from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. A Lansing resident, he was associated with the Michigan Manufacturers Association where he served as its Vice-President for Government Affairs.
The Scholarship is to encourage students to take advantage of the opportunities the Department of Advertising's Public Relations program offers. As he gained appreciation for the valuable service dedicated public relations professionals give to their organizations, Richard Augenstein hopes his Scholarship will encourage its recipients to become the best practitioners in their continually changing profession who, representing their clients forthrightly, are an example of the integrity of public relations professionals educated at Michigan State University.
Recipients may be sophomores, juniors and/or seniors intending to pursue or pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the Department of Advertising, College of Communication Arts and Sciences, with state interest and intention to pursue a career in public relations.
